Once the Outer Worlds campaign begins, it allows you to customize your character according to your preferred attributes, perks, and aptitudes along with appearance. This attribute point distribution is important and necessary for your game development as it allows you to play your character and interact with all the NPC and environment by optimum decision.

Best Attributes To Choose In Outer Worlds

At the beginning of the game, you are allowed to choose and upgrade from certain sets of Attributes such as Body, Mind, and Personality. Per attributes involves two sub-attributes which can be increased according to your game style but if you are hoping for the best attribute build which will help you throughout the game would be to focus on Mind and Personality instead of Body. We are going to mention you all the Attribute Bonuses and Penalties as you might know that the Attribute Points to be distributed at the beginning is 6. You can increase the Attribute Points at the expense of going Below Average and incur Penalties which is not recommended.


Strength


It affects your melee weapon damage and the weight or amount of items you are able to carry.

  • 1-Handed Melee
  • 2-Handed Melee
  • Heavy Weapons
  • Block
  • Inspiration
  • Intimidate

Penalties (Below Average): Tactical Time Dilation -100% Move Time and draining are doubled, Reduction of carrying the capacity to 60kg and -10% Melee damage.


Dexterity


It affects your melee attack speed and ranged weapon reload speed which is necessary for the combat-based style.

Affected Skills:
  • 1-Handed Melee
  • Handguns
  • Dodge
  • Block
  • Sneak
  • Lockpick

Penalties (Below Average): Weapon Durability decreased to 30% and its loss is increased, Ranged Weapon Reload Speed decreased to 25%, and Melee Weapon’s attack speed decreased to 10%.


Intelligence


It affects your critical hit Bonus Damage which is pretty much necessary while handling the Marauders and wild beasts.

  • Long Guns
  • Persuade
  • Hack
  • Medical
  • Science
  • Determination

Penalties (Below Average): Reduced Critical damage up to -20%, critical hit damage drastically reduced and unlocks Dumb dialogue options.


Perception


It affects weak spots and headshot bonus damage during combat.

Affected Skills:
  • Handguns
  • Long Guns
  • Heavy Weapons
  • Dodge
  • Lockpick
  • Engineering

Penalties (Below Average): No weakspot and headshot bonus damage.


Charm


It affects your reputation against each Factions as well as Companion ability CD.

Affected Skills:
  • Persuade
  • Lie
  • Intimidate
  • Hack
  • Science
  • Inspiration

Penalties (Below Average): Companion Ability CD reduced to -20%, -35% Positive Faction Reputation reactions, +15% Negative Faction Reputation.


Temperament


It improves your natural health regeneration.

Affected Skills:
  • 2-Handed Melee
  • Lie
  • Sneak
  • Medical
  • Engineering
  • Determination

Penalties (Below Average): No passive health regeneration per second.

These attributes are all set on average and the distribution points allowed to you would be 6 in the beginning. You can focus on investing your attributes point on Mind and Personality.

  • Temperament +1

Outer Worlds

Mostly you will be building your reputation and hacking logs, containers to gain more information and loots. For combat maneuver, you can later increase it via consuming your skill points after each leveling up. Select these mentioned attributes and start your story at normal pace without facing any conflicts.
